Heer leather tab

Hello all,
I was wondering what the leather tab on a Heer buckle are for??

Also what is the maker mark Dransfeld, Menden designate. Is it for the leather tab itself or for the tab and buckle??

People theorize the leather tab is for leveling out the belt in front. The maker on the tab is also the maker of the buckle.

Did all Heer Buckles come with a leather tab or was it up to the manufacturer?

all of them have . and luftwaffe also have . Only waffen ss didn't have leather tabs. Also late war luftwaffe and Heer buckles didn't have leather tabs ( the laterest buckle with tab which I saw was from 1942 so I think that from 1943 germans stoped added leather tabs to buckles ).
