It is rare to find SS marked belts. The SS usually had belts marked to makers of the belts, but you will rarely find SS coded belts and if you are lucky they will be original.

Then for my ss buckle i simply add a normal belt and i wont go crazy lookin for an ss marked belt as the ss at the time used "normal"marked belts as well right?

Hi Lelez....yeah just get a normal black combat belt for the buckle and you will be doing okay...as that is how they came.

From 1931 to 1934 there was no SS marked belts.
              From 1934 to 1935 just a few
              From 1935 to 1939 all
              From 1940 to 1943 some
              From 1943 to 1945 none

The problem has been during the very last years of the war where the SS reissued everything they could find which could be worn. So, for example, it is common to find as direct vet brought back a late war unmarked belt (with direct punched set of holes) mounted with an early nickel silver SS buckle. It is not "how they came" but rather how they ended.

Depends of the display you want. If you wish a 1938 display, yes indeed. If you want to fit on a Waffen SS soldier from the battle of the bulge it does not matter.

hi jean Pierre, yes the belt has to go on a normal M43 ss jacket and helmet and not for a 1938 display.i think then i ll just get a normal alluminium belt for the buckle.thanks again
