Turnverein buckle

Hey gang....quick question....Does anyone have any history on the Gymnastics Association that used this type of buckle with the four "F"'s (Fresh,Happy, Pious and Free).

I'd love to learn a little more about this buckle, or specifially, the organization.

WOW... that article is quite a read.....looks like this was quite an old association, way before the 3rd Reich....thanks for the info....is there any correlation between this organization and the National Socialists?

hello rob,
here´s some more info:
- the dtb was closed down in 1933 by the nazis after they came to power.
- in 1936 the dtb was "gleichgeschaltet", which means that it was intergrated into nazi-organisations.
- after war in 1950 the dtb re-established in frankfurt
- in 2003 it had more than 5.000.000 members in 20.000 clubs.

... looks like turnvater jan is still having lots of supporters in germany
