my 1st buckle

hi,i bought this a while ago and it was my first buckle purchase it looks ok to me but with it having so much of its paint and the belt has a maker and date stamp of 1940,just wondered if my first purchase is ok,

thanks every one for your fast replys on my buckle,i am a happy man now i know its genuine,i know there not the dearest of buckles but it was my 1st and it makes me happy to know its a good 1st buckle
