A nice and indeed scarce buckle , the second one I observe with the faceplate not reinforced by domed pins.

Totally agree with Ric on this one.

A super and scarce buckle, with elements of the reverse constructional detail, that I have never seen before.

I wonder where the buckle was made ? Germany or Norway ?

Even though the buckle looks as though it emanated from the manufacturers that we know so well, there are some very subtle differences from the "norm".

The size of the half moon "catch" with an exaggerated gap is worthy of comment, although the circle so characteristic of Aurich, similarly so. Lovely extreme bent over "ears" and I think that the slender claws are very interesting.

A wonderful and very rare buckle !

not knowing jack about buckles would bet though it was made in germany.
