    Unknown marking on belt

    Hello,

I have a black WH belt, I obtained together with an aluminium Heeres EM buckle. It is stamped on the inside, horizontal, near the hook, B.A.Br. 11 38. Size 90, no other markings. The stamp looks rather burned in than stamped (letters with broad, shallow, black lines). I have seen a stamp with more or less identical letters, reading B.A.Br. 9 39 on another belt. I would presume that B.A. could mean Bekleidungs-Amt, and the numbers month and year. But maybe somebody knows for sure, and also the meaning of Br.

    Thank You
    Johannes

    Hello,
The conclusion you made is correct: Bekleidungs-Amt December 1938 but I also am not sure about the Br. I have seen this on other belts with other variations of letters ( BA Hg)
I have a suggestion, it might be the abbreviation of the depot city (Bekleidungs amt Bremen) ? These abbreviations are often seen on Postshutz buckle tabs.
    Any one else ??
    Marc V.
