A really super "Wehrwolf" buckle Bob.

As you say, the lacquer to the roundel is quite intact and I think that some of these buckles were described by manufacturers as having an "antique" type finish - as can be seen from yours.

And here's the book that started it all. 'Der Wehrwolf' by Hermann Loens. A story of German resistance fighters during the Thirty Years War. This is the 1940 edition, complete with Wolfsangel.

This book has been in print for almost a century. Loens was killed in WW1 though, so never really got the benefit.

Wehrwolf Fotos are really hard to find. I have just one photo showing the buckle in wear. And the quality is not the best...
