you are indeed right : it is not original although made with a well detailed die , by the way the same fake buckle is pictured (and presented as an original one) in the book by P. Nash (page 228)

Coincidence the example I have in my collection, purchased about 15 years ago as fake, comes from Innsbruck (Austria).
