Has this quite interesting buckle appeared on the forum before ? I am sure that it has. I agree totally with Ric though, an original and probably unearthed buckle, with however a replacement pin shroud and claw.

The point of the response though is - does anybody recognise the style of pin shroud and claw, where the claws are brazed directly onto the pin shroud ? Is this an Imperial or early Weimar style ? Does anybody have a period buckle with the same arrangement and that can be shown ?
