    SS Führerkoppelschloß

    Hello.
Today I bought lots of ww1+ww2 items from an old lady.

I am 99% sure that nothing is wrong with this "ss-führer" but I want to hear your opinion.

Please help me in this case.

    Greetings from austria

    Hello,

You can sleep good, the SS Officer zinc buckle is original. It is very unfortunate the keeper and prongs are missing, but still a nice original buckle!

    Best Regards

          Jean Pierre ,
I though my eyes were deceiving me there I looked at the pictures of the buckle and thought "GOLD", then I looked at the photo of the group above!
          cheers,
          Gary

            Hello Gary,

Ah, ah .... But you had to look first on the buckle's back and check the date of manufacture: 1943.
Since the "golden" SS Officers buckles for Generals were first introduced by the RZM in March 1939, once again specified in May 1940, so you could discard SS Officer buckles marked with dates before 1939.
Since these "golden" SS Officer Buckles were to be worn ONLY with the SS brocade belt, and since production of any SS Brocade belt was discontinued by November 1941, it is logical to think that production of any original "golden" SS Officer buckle been discontinued by 1941 also.
So, it leaves us with expected dates of 1939, 1940 and 1941, not before and not after

Note: I saw and handled the only known "golden" SS Officer buckle (the same one Angolia and Catella are refering) and can tell you it confirms the above thoughts.
