    SS O& C - opinions

    Hi all

For me - it's a textbook of nickel SS O&C buckle - can't find any red flags. However some voices arose that lately few of them shown on day light - coincidence ?
Your opinions will be very valuable - as usuall.
    Thanks.

With all due respect, yours is not exactly a "text book" example of this particular and very well documented buckle.

I am somewhat unhappy to use the phrase "red flag", however, have a closer look perhaps at the pin and claws. Not at all in simpatico with this buckle per se, although an "Imperial" or "Weimar" type.

Has the buckle been unearthed perhaps ?

May we have images of the top and bottom edge of the buckle in order that we may clearly see the pin head and the pin end ?

I suspect that this is an original, although "ground dug" buckle, with the pin and claws arrangement having been carefully replaced post unearthing.

        Regards,

        David

            Hi,

I absolutely agree with David's analysis.

Above are all the pictures available for me at the moment - I'm not the owner.
Yes - I do agree , that is very high probability of ground origin of this particular buckle , specially with such type of patina.
I have to admit as well - I didn't think about locking arrangement . While in soil - an original most likely was wasted and replaced then.
