Thanks for clearing that up for me. The buckle looks fine to me. It has nice details and a good honest look. I have never gotten one of these from a vet, but the versions with the eagle facing this way of course are scarce (the WH was going to switch over and some makers jumped the gun...you can even see this on some cloth etc with the heads)...I have also seen the buckles with the heads looking this direction made up with different construction methods...a four pronger comes to mind that I saw recently. I think unless somebody proves the piece is a fake (IE we see a quantity coming out over the next few years) that we can not really say that these are fake, and I would ask Marc how many years ago he has seen this style as I know he collected buckles for a while.
