></o>- fake is cast with an uneven surface and with signs of casting to include a slight orange skin effect and very minor raised spots
></o>- original is die stamped and smooth aluminium
></o>- fake has a slight grey colour and displays bare metal, whilst the original is white metal with a silver grey lacquer
></o>- difference in size and especially by the height
></o>- instant recognition of the fake to the original, being towards the emblem detail and in particular, the quality of the stalks to the spray of oak leaves
></o>- edge of the fake is uneven and shows signs of casting, whilst the original is perfectly smooth
></o>- differing styles of pin heads and pin ends between the fakes and the originals. In particular, the serrated pin end on the original is quite distinct
></o>- fake buckles have an imitation seam to the pin shroud and of course, this together with the claws having been cast and therefore, replicates all the features
