    Unmarked Assmann EM Steel Buckle?

    Hello Fellows:

How scarce are unmarked Assmann EM steel buckles? I picked one up with no finish on the front (polished away) and what appears to be field gray on the reverse but no markings. I was not aware that Assmann made such pieces without markings. Any input would be appreciated. I can not post pictures now as my camera died after six long years of service and I am going to get a new one in a few days.

        Hi John,

since your buckle seems to be a 155/43 IIĀ° type (according to Redeuilh's classification) are you sure it's not marked under the post sleeve assembly ?.
Sometimes the mark in this kind of buckle is very light...

HI Ric....you are right...I looked at the piece with a magnifying glass and could see the 155/43 code marked very lightly and part of one circle. It is interesting that it is marked so lightly.
