    NSFK Brocade belt

    thank you

    Tony,

The only picture I know of, although of course not a photograph, is the colour plate in the 1943 Organisationsbuch der NSDAP. It is highly unlikely that any brocades were ever actually produced. Most buckles in circulation are clearly fakes, although there is one type that corresponds exactly to the Luftwaffe brocade buckle in construction. This could theoretically be original, but it´s more likely that the Icarus emblem was added later.

Angolia shows a period pic of a high-ranking NSFK leader with a very strange brocade. Details are poor, but it's clearly not the pattern shown in the Organisationsbuch. Probably an individual idiosyncracy of the wearer.

    Regards, Karl

Karl has really said it all in relation to this quite enigmatic buckle.

Interestingly, there is an "Overhoff" marked NSFK leaders buckle, currently for sale on one of the premier European dealers sites.

Let me know if you would like an image of the plate from the 1943 Organisationsbuch der NSDAP that Karl refers to.

      Regards,

      David

Thanks for the interesting pics, David.
Is the book generally available? I assume it is a reprint. Are there any more rare buckles/belts/brocades shown in there? I thought that brocades were generally not worn after 1939, or am I misinformed?
                  Regards,
                  Kevin
