    SS Aluminium Buckle

I would very much like some opinions on this buckle which a friend of mine has in his collection. Its aluminium and well worn naturally. Unfortunately i have only this one picture, but if needed i can get some more, perhaps of the reverse side.

    Any or are truly appreciated

No problems at first sight. Can we see the back?

Dear schorschi and Marc, thanx for your informative comments.

The belt buckle in question is in fact a 155/39 and the owner also has the belt leather which is marked 134/41 and also ...MANN München, SS and RZM. This belt is also ink-marked with SS-Mann T. Eriksen, probably denoting a norwegian soldier in the Norges SS or in the Germanske SS Norge in the period when the fieldgrey uniform was introduced instead of the black one used before.

Pictures of both the reverse side of the buckle, and the leather belt will come, but the owner has yet no camera so he has to get some photographic help before pictures can be delivered.

Finally my friend provided me with some additional pictures of this buckle. Notice that the original owner has written his name on the belt, and although it says SS-Mann E. there's a possibility that this man was a member of the Germanske SS Norge, and not a volunteer in the Waffen-SS.

Absolutely original belt and buckle set. The Assmann SS buckle is a Type 2.
