Odd Luft. EM buckle

This buckle is an early Luft. EM drop tail and is made of alum. The thing I find different about this buckle is the back plate. It seems that the back plate was put into the buckle than held in place by the front plate being folded over it at both ends. Is this common or is this an odd ball buckle?

Your buckle is not very common but absolutely original; I have seen this type of construction on LW buckles (like yours) and I know of one police buckle with this type of construction.
I also have in my collection a non-finished LW buckle of this construction.
Will post the picture when I have more time.

Hello I to have one of these buckles, it is worn and looks very old .I have compared it with many and finally found someone else that owns one like it.
If you find any info or maker on it please post it.
There are no other markings on it .I have included pics front and back.
