    HJ crank catch Value?

Hello all, I am very happy to be a part of such a great collectors site!
As this is my first Post I had a question about the value of the HJ Aluminum RZM M4/39 A ( Assman) stamped Crank catch style buckle value? I have seen a few of these I think from David North but wanted to know the value? I purchased this buckle 18 yaers ago as a child from a gun show for 40 Bucks and wanted to know the value now. I also have about 4 more belts brought back from my grandpa that I want to share in photos as soon as I get an account. Thanks for your time!

    Hello Chad

    Welcome to the forum.

The buckle that you describe has indeed been highlighted in the past, on the forum.

Not rare, although not overly common.

HJ buckles are now at last generating an interest and certainly, the Assmann "crank" is quite desirable.

The price though, hinges on the condition.

Perhaps you could provide the forum with some images.

    Regards,

    David

Hello Chad...I am Chad also...as David said, value is based on condition and also on region ..Here, I would put a value of about $75-100 on that buckle, it may go for more in europe......hope that helps..Chad

              Hello Chad (and Chad)

A "text book" example of this particular and specific HJ by Assmann, which is steel by the way and not aluminium. All the markings as they should be.

The condition is quite reasonable and actually, this specific buckle is notorious for not holding the very light silver grey finish well. No signs of repair to me, although corrosion is often seen at the point where the crank penetrates the edge of the box.

Agree with Chad about the price, insofar as a dealer in the UK would probably sell it for GBP 65 (Euro 95/USD 110).

              Regards,

              David
