      The buckle is original.
A fair price...... Dificult these days.... SS buckles value has been going up constantly the last years, first it were the Officers,... now the EM's are going sky high....(over 500$ for anything with a slightly scarce marking !!!) and the offiecrs are going down.... At the show in Kassel, the "average" price for a "regular, used condition" officer was 550 €uro....( from 500€ to 650 € at regular dealers, NOT the few crazy ones with futuristic pricers!!)
      Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot for your answers.
The buckle is a ground dug which was found some years ago with some
        other ss-items.

        regards

Is that keeper an afterthought?.All originals i have seen are curved. This looks quite flat.
Plus its missing the roll bar and prongs.

              Marc,
What do you think of the keeper?

The buckle itself looks fine but that keeper is a bit funky looking.

I assume thats been added,as even the finish doesent match the buckle body.

                Hi.

Sorry I forgot to say that the "keeper" was really added it only belonged to a leather belt, which was found next to the buckle.

                  Hi,
                  Thanks for clarifying that.
I had no issues with the buckle body, but that keeper just didnt seem right.

The keeper is not belonging to the side of the buckle it is on but to the other side; it is a good zinc keeper who could be used on the leather officer belt with zinc SS buckle. Notice the cracks, they are characteristic of these productions, they are very fragile and this is one of the reasons the real sets (Belts and buckles) are so scarce.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>
