Super photograph Christian !
I am though a tad confused here.
Perhaps I am I right in thinking that now, the general feeling is that there is no significance (by organisation), between the horizontal and down swept wing eagle. If so, why should there be a demarcation between DLV/LW/RLB.
Surely this buckle (horizontal wing and down swept wing), was and for a period, appropriate to all.
Do you think that the style of eagle was distinct to a particular organisation ? If so, we are back to square one !
Regards,
David

Very nice buckles David, I especially like the PAULMANN CRONE buckle, the maker marks are very clear. I think there is a lot of supposition with regards to these DLV/LW/RLB and a lot of reference is made to the Assmann catalogs and then connected to the date of each organisations formation upon which some people believe that they can then truely identify which buckle belongs to this or that organisation. I can only say that I too followed that line of thought for a while, I have also observed conflicting photographs and actually conversed with an old RLB member about his uniform [including his buckle] he wore a DLV Buckle. The confusion and debates caused by the uncertainty is what makes this type of buckle so interesting
