SS Aluminium buckle. RZM 36/40. Opinions.

    Hi guys,
i'm not expert in this field of militaria and, because i'd like to purchease this buckle from a friend, i need your opinions about it.
This buckle is very well used but preserve part of the original silver paint. Internally, it presents the initials of the soldier (GO i think) the RZM number/year of manufacture 36/40 and the SS mark inside only one circle.
    What do you think?
Thanks in advance for your reply,
    Alex

The Overhoff SS buckle looks fine to me, albeit and with all due respect, a little tired and distressed.

I do however need some help from other members of the Forum in connection with the notoriously good, 36/40 SS fakes. I have seen fake 36/39's with a single ring around the SS, although I cannot recall this feature on the fake 36/40's. ?

The originals of course with both single and double rings, the former being I think, the most rare of the two.

          Regards,

          David

It also looks like somebody has painted over worn areas...look at the wreath for example, John

                Hi guys,
many thanks for your replies; i know that this buckle was bought in the beginning of the 90's. I know it's very low in conditions but if it would be original i have decided to buy it. (i'd pay it 200 Euros). After all, is not very common to find an original SS buckle nowadays! What do you think?

                  Alex ,

The buckle is not rare, but €200 is a very fair price for nice worn ss buckle. This type with single circle is an earlier and less common than type with double circle.

                  Regards ,
                  Blazej
