GB 40 dated Heer buckle DAK?

A Pick up via New Zealand recently.

My question is can it be attributed as DAK despite missing tab?

Wrong paint finish for DAK imo, do not think it ever had a web tab, still a nice uncleaned Wh buckle

As a rule if it doesn’t have a tab I don’t consider it tropical. Lots of dealers love to call any lighter green paint tropical but i just call it a manufactures variation.

Agree, however most early GB dated buckles found in NZ (all with Early green Tropical tabs) are DAK bring backs as that is where the Kiwis where fighting prior to Italy. It’s a regional thing.

I've had lots of these dark green Gustav Brehmer buckles with & without web tabs and they all originated from Nth Afrika. In fact I'm wearing a 41 dated GB right now to hold my pants up, been wearing it for over 50yrs. This originally had a leather tab which I cut off in my teens but this buckle with leather belt was brought home from Nth Afrika by my father who couldn't have got it anywhere else because he only served in that theatre of war.
