I must admit, it is not very often that I feel the sap rising in connection with a steel SS buckle.
This one was recently posted and sold on the e-stand. The vendor has however given his kind permission for the images to be used as a reference point on the Forum, just in case some members never saw it - thankyou Frank.
A brilliant detail steel SS by Josef Feix und Sohne - Gablonz a. d. N.
The design is sometimes and by a casual glance mistaken for an Assmann, although the detail of the eagle throughout, is quite distinct. Here as simply brilliant. In addition, the claw arrangement to this buckle is peculiar to Feix also.
Normally found with a JFS stamping near to the catch arrangement, however apparently not so on this one (as stated). The possibility however that the logo in a various form is lurking somewhere else on the buckle.
I have also attached a photo merge of this buckle centre, supported by Assmann SS designs, in order that a comparison can be made. The Assmann images have been taken from previous posts within the Forum, as not to infringe anyones copyright.
Regards,
David
