    Early Police Belt

This is anoher belt I got in the lot buy last week. After showing it to Bill (Buckle 1), he also suggested that I post this belt as well. Bill tells me that it is an Early Poice belt, but the Slides were unusual. Both slides are original to the belt and the felt backing matches exactly to the rest of the belt.
    Any insight/opinions??
    Thanks,

Cannot believe no one has responded to this request. Joe W., if your out there how about an opinion! There is no doubt that the brocade is good. Just don't know about the sliders. Anyone else that can jump in and help Scott(and me on this)?

Always dangerous to dive into a topic where the member has no experience whatsoever, however here goes. What do they say - better to keep your mouth closed and be suspected of being a fool, rather than open it and have the suspicion confirmed.

I think that the brocade is well documented in some of the recognised publications as early Polizei associated. As Bill has suggested, no doubt about that.

The slides are interesting and I must admit, not only do they appear period and in simpatico, however the braid does have a Polizei influence, having the same feel as the officers "cartouche" pouch bandolier and/or the flag or standard bearers harness.

There is also the well known and period photograph of a "Blood Order" Polizei officer acting as a standard bearer, with the slides to his brocade, looking decidedly "non stripey" !

              Regards,

              David

                Hi Dave,
Thanks for your insight into this Brocade. I am very intrigued about the Blood Order photo. Is this something you can post??
                Thanks,
                Scott

                  Scott - unfortunately no.

Current publication and potential problems with copyright.

                  Regards,

                  David
