Greetings,
First, my condolences to our friends in London and the UK.
I need some help in identifying these buckles. Only one is maker marked and the others are not marked I believe. From previous threads, I gather that the first is a NSKK gilt, the second a luft, the third an older Bavarian imperial buckle, the forth a SA (discussed here a few months ago), the fifth a RAD, and the sixth a kreigsmarine. I have the belt for the gilt buckle and for two other buckles, however I managed to lose the other three belts when I was a kid in the 1950's. The belts have poor and cryptic marks, one "WSS" and another with a half strike of a brand that I can't make out. Five of these buckles may be conjectural as to maker, but perhaps the footed catch might be an indication. I would appreciate any opinions.
thanks, d.
