    SS buckle for sale!

    Thanks JP!

Does anyone know if the aluminum SS officer's buckle that is on the e-stand
    is an original?

That is the first one that I have seen with rounded crimps.

    Thanks! Chris

Yes, it is (and the price was very cheap). Such crimps are not at all rare. They are one of the several shape one can find on SS Officer buckles made by Overhoff between 1937 and 1945 (so including aluminum and zinc buckles). You just did not saw one with them yet, that's all.

      Is $1100 (£600) "very cheap"?

        Thanks JP!

Is it proper for all, or some of these later aluminum SS officer's
buckles to have several zinc parts like that one appears to have?

        Thanks again! Chris

My mistake. I confused the British Pound simbol with the Euro symbol which makes of course a difference. But with now a converted price of $1100 USD, it is still a very decent price. No longer very cheap, but very decent. Especially for a 36/40 which has all very distinctive features of an original.

"Appears to have" is not "have". There is no zinc part with this buckle.

              Jean,
Of what metal is the keeper made on the buckle on Estand?

Is it possible to find a missing keeper (and/or an original leather belt) for this buckle? May be somebody have an extra keeper (and/or an original leather belt) or knows where to find it?

The missing keeper is highlighted in green on the picture below.

              Thank you in advance

The "missing" keeper is made of the same metal as the buckle: aluminum. It is also the exact same for any WH, LW, SS, DRK, etc ... officer buckles. Just a regular aluminum keeper for aluminum officer buckles sewn on many leather and brocade belts.

                    JP,

Have they faked this particular style of crimps any better than the other aluminum SS officer's crimp styles?

                    Thanks! Chris
