    Scharnhorstbund

A trio of "Scharnhorstbund" buckles that I thought may be of interest.

Any others that could be added and also, does anyone have the second buckle shown, with an enamel roundel?

    Regards,

    David

              David,

Very nice selection. Here's my Scharnhorst with enameled emblem. Somewhat damaged, unfortunately.

              Best regards,

              Karl

                    Hello there,
Nice buckles. A somewhat neglected corner of buckle collecting. I have an example of the small version of the second buckle. However, the first buckle shown appears to me to be one of the many Christian organizations from the 30s. Didn't the Scharnhorstbund always have a crown on the cross?

Thankyou for posting that super buckle Karl and irrespective of the slightly tired condition, still a very rare and most attractive beast.

Not quite decided Kevin as to whether this buckle has an Evangelical association, as I know that it belongs to and fits quite comfortably within a family of distinctly "right wing" designs.

                      Regards,

                      David

Not sure as to what organisation the first one belong but it is a scarce buckle. These buckles are indeed neglected; but as buckle collecting is a rising collection topic these buckles will be in demand sooner or later. It just takes a few people who specialise in non combat buckles and start actively to look for them to find out that there are not so many of these buckles around.<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /><o></o>

                          Another "Scharnhorstbund" buckle.

The first time that I have seen this design with a brass roundel.

                          Regards,

                          David

                              David,

I have a buckle identical to No. 2 (actually #3 ) Mine is a very early manufacture "U" catch and soldered on prong bar nearly identical to the back of the buckle photo #4. Is that the right back for image #3?
