    My New HJ

Hello...as some of you know, I changed what I collect about 4 months ago and have sold /traded my whole original collection of buckles (aprox 140) I am now strictly collectiong HJ and DJ buckles ...I am collecting them by maker and variation...here is a nice buckle I just got int he mail, it has yet a different makers mark for F.W.Assman & Sohn ... I allready have aprox 10 other A&S buckles all having different variations of how they marked there buckles...so here is another variation that I have yet to come across...I like how it appears almost as an afterthought that they tried to fit in the RZM 17 sideways ...I am allso throwing in a pic of my ever growing HJ/DJ collection...enjoy..Chad : Just a side note ...this buckle is solid nickel..the brown stuff on the front is some kind of wierd oxidation, rubs of pretty easy, I have never encountered this type of oxidation on a nickel buckle...Chad

        Excellent and unusual HJ Chad.

As you suggest, the RZM 17 is probably an after thought stamping on a current stock, already marked and pre RZM buckle. It would appear that the introduction of the RZM and in the very early days, baffled and confused some makers (especially Overhoff), however Assmann on your buckle appear to have solved the problem with a second and "squeezed in" regulation stamp, in order to fully comply.

        Regards,

        David
