    Luft steel buckle w/black tab?

    Hi, folks,
I recently found this Luftwaffe buckle offered for sale.
Any thoughts as to its originality and/or rarity?

    Many thanks,
    John

Nice buckle! Well worn but still in good condition.

Gebr. Schneider is not that sarce, more one of the common to find makers.

I found a couple of other 1940 with the reversed mark. So they have them both ways. Like your trio.

              Wow!! Thank you!!

              Hi, folks,

Thanks very much, and I especially appreciate the photos showing
the variations, and in such fine shape!! I'm more of an "accumulator"
than a dedicated buckle "collector." I also like items that show use
by the individual soldier, so that makes buckles like the one I showed
more appealing, easier to locate and cheaper... works for me!
That leaves more pristine specimens out there for you experts!

I really do appreciate your help, insight, comments, pics and kindness!
Thank you very much, and all the best!

They are different buckles, the thread buckle with reversed marking are Lenkwerk Brüder Schneider, Wien made, the maker of Willy Z. buckle is Ernst Schneider, Lüdenscheid

I guess we're talking about two different makers :

Kirby (klr) is referring to LW buckles by Brueder Schneider in Wien (like the one in post #1), while Willi's is a beautiful and correctly marked one by Ernst Schneider in Luedenscheid.
