Luftwaffe Nickel plated and Graublau paint, opinion?

    Hello all,

This weekend I saw this Luftwaffe buckle and got it for free within a lot that i've bought. I've seen the steel Graublau painted versions and some nickel plated versions, but never one that has both finishes. To my humble opinion the buckle looks original, but I would still like to check this by the help of the real experts. So is it really an original WW2 Luftwaffe buckle and what about the finish?

Have a nice weekend and thanks in advance.

    Greetings,
    Nick

Original buckle. Front and side nickel cover + blue paint is post-war (I think very recent also). Back is OK.

Thanks for the quick reply Brus, this is really helpfull . I agree on the paint. Compared to other steel painted buckles, the colour is way to light too. I will try to carefully restore it and get rid of the paint.
