    Heer or KM buckle?

    Hello!

This beltbuckle was sold to me as a Kriegsmarine beltbuckle, however I’ve come across more than a few Heer buckles with a similar dark blue finish.
It’s marker with ‘N&H L’ indicating manufacture by Noelle & Hueck (from Lüdenscheid, hence the L). However, all their examples I’ve found are marked ‘N&H’ followed by a production year, and not an ‘L’. Does this make it a different manufacturer?

Could you please tell me if the buckle belonged to the Kriegsmarine or Heer? And more about the manufacturer.

    Thank you guys!

The blue black finish make this a late war buckle. Dealers love to call them Kriegsmarine but there’s lots of these out there. Technically the kriegsmarine could’ve worn these but if it doesn’t have a KM marked leather tab I just considering a late were buckle and I would never pay a premium for one.

No, it is also Noelle & Hueck, produced in the last third of wartime. The bluegrey colour (Einheitsfarbe) was used at that time for Heer, Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine.

A generic late-war Wehrmacht buckle, L=Lüdenscheid the town where the factory was located.
