I am still looking for the final answer myself ! But whoever was the maker he produced a rather important quantity of those buckles for the SS.

        Jean Pierre,

This buckle appears to be a nice ground dug example without the nickel finish of the same type early nickeled buckle we've discussed before? Am I correct?

Even in this condition, I find it a very attractrive buckle! Nice find, miraul!

        Regards,
        Gary

Yes indeed you are. This is the same buckle you have.

                miraul -

Beautiful cleaning with the before and after photos as a bonus. Any chance of seeing a photo of the reverse to see how it came out after the cleaning? How did you clean it?

Can you give us the story on how you came by this beautiful buckle and where it was found. Was it found in Poland?

                Jean Pierre -

Do the examples of this buckle you have all have nickeled brass prongs and prong bar or did this maker use different metals in these parts?

                Regards,
                Gary

What an awesome find I wish I had the opportunity to search for items like you guys in Europe. You did a super job of cleaning the buckle, but I really liked the way it looked before it was cleaned... after all, the dirt and corrosion are (were) a legitimate part of that buckle's history. Still nice though.

                      Cheers, Steve
