Clock from a vehicle?

Hi all,

Picked up a couple bayonets from a Vets grandson. They also have this clock which came with the items. I held off with purchasing it because I’m not sure it’s military. From some quick searching I’m thinking it was automotive and definitely WW2 German or pre. Any thoughts on what it may have been used in? Limited with markings. Have the maker and town, and an A on reverse. About 3 inch diameter. Any help appreciated.

Thanks I seen that as well, which has lead me to my aforementioned thoughts. Too bad the family doesn’t know the story on how it was acquired.
