Ammunition Loads in the "Stummel" & Sd.KFz. 234 - HE only?

    Hey guys,

When open topped vehicles were equipped with the KwK37 (like the Sd.Kfz. 251/9 and Sd.Kfz. 234)...what exactly was the ammunition load?

I have read that due to the lack of "armor"...they are not to engage tanks or similar heavy vehciles, and were to remain at a distance from the front line.

If that is the case...were both only loaded with HE Projectiles? Any documents stating what they were being equipped with?

As an ammo crates collector, I just can say that the KwK37 boxes I found in Normandy all HL labelled. This won't say all the ammo is HL.
HL ammo is rare for punchy weapons but when it deals with obsolete weapons, then the supplied ammo is HL.

HL means in german : Hohlladung ( hollow charge ) and is multipurpose : explosive and AP
