    24.Kampfpanzer
    That means
Battle tanks and all sorts of armored vehicles and their pure chassis. My contact says that regaring for replica tanks on FV432, Hotchkiss chassis etc, too.

Currently I am trying to register my deacts (I am collecting Bundeswehr 1956-1990) but the authorities still haven´t any informations how this register should be looking and who is responisble for it.

It is the stupid left here in Germany anyway, they have to justify their existance. No ban on killing people with HGVs driving into pedestrian? The hobby will soon be banned all together and they seek to make criticising the government on such things as imigration policy a criminal offence. Orwell was right, just out by a few decades!

This was posted by a German gentleman, living in Germany, on the HMVF wed site.

"I know a few people here in Germany with armour. You are allowed to own it, and trade it, as many dealer pages will verify. Driving tanks on the road is not allowed, I discovered this changing my licence as I lost the 'H' class entitlement, as they do not have such a category. It would seem only the Bundeswehr are allowed to drive tracked vehicles on the road.

The document is in reference to live equipment, not de-militarised.

As for collecting, it all seems the same as the UK from what I can see, bar the EU specification on deactivated weapons. Also the sale of Reich goods is tricky, although not illegal, just illegal to show emblems from my understanding. "

I don't know who's right but it seems someones got something wrong.

Yes. Like already said, you can own a tank, but you are not allowed it to drive in in the public nor show it to any under 18 years old. And you must register it.

That means any private vehicle shows would be forbitten...?

The main problem at the moment is that the text of the revised regulation (in fact it is no law, its just a regulation!) is written by lawyers ...

The regulation itself is not new, its only extended on "drivable weapons of war". Until last year a armoured vehicle changed its legal status by demilitarisation and became simply a vehicle with extraordinary technical features. Most of them could not be made road legal because of - for example - missing rubber pads (tracked vehcles with a v-max over 6 km/h must have them to save the tarmac), because of thier dimension (over 3 m wide) or the fact that the driver has not enough sight on the road. Therefore light wheeled vehicles like Ferret could be made road legal...

Handguns underlying the list of "weapons of war" were always under this regulation with banning people under 18 from handling them in any way! After in 2003 another regulation was dropped (it was generally forbidden to own somthing looking like a automatic military weapon ,even if it had been formed from cardboard (Anscheinsparagraph "Similarity-Regulation")) there was the silly situation that kids could play with softair assault rifles but not with demilled originals. This was banned again as since some years it is generally forbidden to carry things looking like a gun in public, making problems even when carnival societies carry 100% wooden Musket-lookallikes on public events ...

Since 2019 now all owners of armoured vehicles have to register these and have to aply for a special permission to own and operate these vehicles.

According to someone owning a collection with over 100 of these items the permission is similar to that needed for live guns and no problem for anything besides MBTs. These now only could be sold to outside germany....

The only problem is how to read some parts of the text... for sub 18s the "Umgang" is forbidden. Some say this means that they are only not allowed to operate these items and the owner always must make sure they can`t ? Or, as Hoover states, that they are not allowed to climb on them for a ride? Also the vehicles only can be operated in "umfriedetem Bereich" - must this "pacified area" be secured by a fence or is it suitable when it as a kind of controll at the entrance like on any public event?

The more unpleasant thing is what Hoover also wrote ... new regulations for demilled handguns which may lead to the fact that I notonly have to register them too like life weaons, but also may have to convert all of them to the latestd standards - completly welded...

We have to wait for a sort of a sort of execution regulations.
If the authorities are strict there will be no shows with combat tanks and reenactments etc anmore.

But maybe shows will be allowed with visitors 18 years upwards, but without drivable battle tanks.

Until there are no exceptions mentioned.

If I have to weld my deacts to the latest standards I will destroy a few thousands Euro....

              They are totally stupid...

What is funny in France is that you can drive a 200hp tractor with loaded trailer, with a total weight of 45 tons, if you are simply aged over 16, without a driving license, if your father has the farm. This is legal.
Having no driving license allows you to not loose that driving license if you are caught while phone calling driving with one hand...
But they are feeding the world … hey !
