Please forgive my ignorance, but what is the large circular object on the front corner of the front armor plate -- see yellow circle on the picture below. There is one on the other side of the plate as well (hidden by the glove). I've built several Tiger I models, and I've not yet figured out what these are for. I initially thought they were headlight mounts, but they were never used for that.

Does anyone know what these two items were used for?

      Tiger

Those two holes are for an inverted L-shaped steel frame that was dropped in and, with the aid of chains, was used to assist in the removal of the drive sprocket wheels for repairs.

Some photos do exist of this work being carried out.

There is also discussion about the holes being used for posts/frames that would be covered with canvas to disguise the Tiger to look like a lorry/truck.
I have seen a photo , but not using these two holes.

      S.
