    Flakpanzer Restoration

Some of you may know of the collection of German vehicles at the CFB Borden museum in Canada. A team of guys are now restoring the Flakpanzer located there!

The progress that they're making is being documented on Youtube.

    Here's one of the videos:

I have a used magneto rear cap for them to use. I think theirs is missing. I haven't had much luck in getting a response out of the facebook group.

Didn't expect to meet anyone else from the restoration here!

Here's the latest video covering the first half of the most recent workday on the Flakpanzer: https://youtu.be/BtLXu_2Km9w

A Leopard ARV was brought in to lift off the superstructure, engine, and transmission out of the Pz IV hull.

Videos on the November 12, 2017 workday are up. Hope it's alright that I regularly post videos up here.

The electrical system has been pulled out:
                      https://youtu.be/uIkgEIXiCig

The Flakvierling mount has also almost been completely disassembled:
                      https://youtu.be/FWHrWLMLgMM

And on the chassis, one of the fuel tanks has been removed, and the brake system's disassembly has begun:

                        Believe it or not...

They offered the Flakpanzer in trade for a Canadian Sherman (Grizzly) that is here in the USA.

The tank had Canadian D-Day history...and they wanted it in Borden. Flak had no history with them...so they offered it as a 1:1 trade.

This was around 3 years ago.

The owner in the USA REFUSED!

It was a $250K tank at best...compared to the FlaKPanzer...

                        Said he preferred cash.

I would have done the trade in a HEARTBEAT!!!

                          Great,
You can see the three mounting frames for the radios dynamotors (umformers)
                          2 for the EUa and 1 for a U10a, means it had a standard Fu5 + Fu2 equipment ( 2 UKWEe and 1 10WSc).

                          Thanks for the update.

                            Hello.

Please, can you find exact type of the gearbox on your FlakPanzer?
Should be SSGxx (76 or 77), this should be stamped at the left side of the gearbox.

                            Photo is welcome .

                            Thank you in advance.
