What is the Divisional sign on this relic car door??

    Dear all,

Herewith a fragment of a relic car door originating from a German staff car, found in France.

I would be curious to find out what Division it belonged to; could anyone clarify?

In the second image I highlighted what IMO the sign looked like. As you can see it somehow resembles the 3rd Panz. Div. but clearly it isn't.

    Help much appreciated!

Thank you Sir, but it is not that I don't know what it despicts, rather that I don't know what the sign stands for. I did some initial research but was unable to find out.

        Hi,

The information I have says it was orignally Panzer Gruppe 3, later 3rd Panzer Armee from late 1941.

1941-45 in Russia, Poland, East Prussia and finally North East Germany.

        cheers lennard

Yep, that is the one! Much obliged!

It remains a puzzle though, how this door/car could have been wind up in Moselle, France. where it was allegedly found?? ...but I guess a lot was possible during those winds of war...
