Part of M10 tank destroyer armour ?

Hi guys. just bought this piece of metal.
Seller said it is part of a m10 tank destroyer engine bay... The overall shape fits, and it seems to be the left side...

The questions on the piece is if anyone knows the deal with the rust free welds and the 'Lubricating oil' and 'water' marks.... never saw that on a piece of armour.
Measures 100 x 36cm with the 2 holes being 13cm's each..... and ofc it weighs alot

    M10 /M36B2 engine deck panel

    Hi

yep this is an enginedeck panel from a M10 or M36B2 (not all M10 versions though as the M10A1 had a different enginedeck arrangement)

Here you have a pic and explanation for the fillerholes
the hingesections still left on your plate are for the enginedeck lid.
a pity the cast fillercaps were not included.

If the seller also came from Denmark this must be some target range relic
Postwar Denmark used a lot of Canadian made M10 Achilles with 17 pdr gun.
Have fun restoring the darn heavywheight

    cheers

The rust-free welds are simply down to the welding rod being a material with a higher resistance to rusting that the armour plate. I've seen it before on relic armour.
