    "The Tiger Collection" - Bovington

All, I was fortunate that they opened the (as yet incomplete) Tiger exhibit at Bovington a few weeks early. Probably the first time that five Tiger variants were all in the same place since the 1940's.

I was embarrassed as an American that Bovington took such incredible care of their collection while Aberdeen PG simply let them rot - the Elefant was the same one that sat outside in the elements at Aberdeen for decades...

I know that Bovington was trying to get one of the Sturmtigers for the display, but apparently that fell through. They only had the barrel in Bovington's collection on display.

Thanks for sharing this. Just fantastic.

Great machines. That Jagdtiger is a driving bunker, massive armor and huge gun

Any ideas on what happens to the Elefant when the exhibition loan is concluded and it returns to the U.S.? Are we going to park it outside again to rot?

Yes, I too am embarrassed that the Aberdeen collection has not been better preserved . . . . heck, just take them off display and put them inside some otherwise unused shed or building. IMO, better to be parked under cover and not on public display than to sit out in the elements and rot. Surely somewhere at Aberdeen (or some other U.S. DOD facility) there is room to store these things under a roof?
