F.Pz.D.T 4804 - PzII turret with PzIII gun

    Hello All,
A week ago a PzII turret with PzIII gun - F.Pz.D.T 4804 - was discovered in Poland. F.Pz.D.T is a shortcut from Festung Panzer Drehturm (fortification rotatable turret). Only 100 pcs of F.Pz.D.T 4804 were produced, was to be mounted on the bunker Bauform 238 (version of Ringstand 67) on B1 Stellung near Krakow. As 37mm gun efectiveness was questionable in 1945, Bauform 238 was always installed as covering of back side of strongpoints.
    Look at:

AFAIK it's only one existing, another one disappeared from the bunker in 1995.

Nice discovery Nothing left of the stronghold position? It was just in the middle of a field?

      Here are some:

The last one existing on the bunker disappeared around 1995. That one was thrown after the war by a farmer to the bunker dugout, so that it doesn't disturb him in agricultural works. It was near the strongpoint in B1 Stellung. Strongpoint itself includes: 1xRegelbau 668, 1xBauform238, 3x Ringstand 58c

I remember many years ago...(M.G. I am getting old) while in Krakow, a local friend told me about going to dig a German tank that was buried somewhere around. I don't think it was this one but it brought the thoughts back to my mind.
