    Panther is gone !

The Panther Ausf A at CFB Borden is longer in it's normal location! I believe it was moved this past Thursday.
Anyone know were it is now or where it is going. I have heard rumours it was going to Ottawa.
Last year about this time the Hetzer disapeared , apparently locked away in a "C" Container.

Omg, why do they lock them away?
Why not sell them to me
    But honestly...
Locking them away? what a shame....

      Ordnancebob,

You can find a number of photos and discussion about the Borden Panther here:

It would seem it is not, repeat not, being hidden away but moved to a better location.

Boy I sure hope they're at least planning to paint it- the poor thing has been that stupid gray for at least 35 years Restoration, like they're doing to the Hetzer, would be nice, but I'm sure it's expensive- so even just new paint would be wonderful. It the Wirbelwind and the Hetzer definitely should be indoors...

          Dont' Worry

          Gentlemen,

the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps Association, The Armoured Museum the director of the Armoured Corps and the Colonel Commendant of the Corps are all working on a plan to redo the Borden Museum. This is being headed up by the Borden Base RSM who is a Black Hatter. They have poured 35 cement pads so far, and are busy refurbisihing all the vehicles. With the new Museum hangers complete some Tanks will be moved inside. this is an on going project and these tanks will be moving aroud fro the next little while.

            Hello,

The reenactment unit I'm with has been restoring the Hetzer for about 3 or 4 years. I have not been there for 2 so I'm not sure how its going. I know for a fact that they need a Magneto Coil for the thing. Anyone has any ideas?
I'm not sure what is with the panther, but the army association said that if we restore the Hetzer we can do the Panther also, and then be free to use them as we wish....

              Borden Panther

              Hello,

On another forum I saw that restoring of the Panther that used to reside on outside display in CFB Borden has finished.

Maybe someone has also pictures from the inside?

              Regards,
              Wim.
