    Strange part from chassis?

    It's not from a chassis but from a wheel system. It's a bogie frame for some heavy vehicle, perhaps a Russian tank? an industrial vehicle?

      I have a notion that its part of the rear suspension on a Krupp Protze.

        I'm not sure it is for a Krupp Protze. It is difficult to see the original suspension system in the actual vehicle. Have a look at the vid, it looks different:

        The OP's pics show a bogie with two wheels but one axle but the Krupp Protze seems to have two independent wheels, with two axles.
