The Normandy Tank Museum on the auction block

Apparently it is all going on the auction block in September!
I was there for the 70th anniversary of D-Day in 2014 (The historic A10 Airfield - Carentan - Catz)

    This museum...

Just announced on the Belgian Military vehicle Collectors site:

    http://www.bmvt.eu/

Note sure if they want to sell the museum's ownership and it will stay (going to new proprietors)
or it will all be parted out... but most likely the latter!

    Nick ,
You should buy some of the display dummies for your war room to replace your scarecrows.

Does any one know the reason? Lack of visitors?
The owners want to do something new?

Unfortunately I did not have the possibility to visit the museum and now it will be too late.

Well its odd...If you go to the auction site and there is no announcement of it...

          http://www.artcurial.com/en/asp/cataloguesearch.asp

It's only mentioned on the Belgian Military Vehicle Trust (BMVT) web site...
"Vente de l'esemble du Normandy Tank Museum"

          http://www.bmvt.eu/

I got it from a friend in Belgium who sent me the link info...Weird! Leaked out? but not (yet) official?

                Hi,
there have ben a lot of new museums` opening up since about 2013 and there have been a lot of changes to area (not nessacerily all good) also the name of Tank Museum is really a misnomer with only 3/4/tanks there.... still a shame to see it go.

I visited the museum this June for the first time. Not that bad. Shame to see it closed.

The Pz IV is property of André BECKER and will not be for sale...

How much of the uniforms, both German and Allied Are original? Also thinking about the props in the exhibition (fuel drums, boxes etc) Are they original? Of course there will be many repros, but is it a good chance to find original stuff?

                              Hi there

This panzer IV is an Ausf H and it doens't have a small 75 mm but the standard 75mm L48 caliber gun.
