Question on 11th Panzer Division

From everything I can find the 11th PD used only 2 numbers on their tanks. Does anyone have any other information that shows otherwise? Books on the 11PD are very hard to find. Or did they use 2 digits during the first part of the war and switch over to 3 digits later? The pictures I have seen with 2 digits were taken early as the tanks/vehicles are all panzer gray.
