Something funny happened on the way to the store, raced a German WWII Truck!!

Today, we were leaving Walmart, just South of Sanford, North Carolina and we noticed that a Chevy 2 ton truck ahead of us had a Wehrmacht Heer licence plate, Notec tail light and was painted a dark gray color? I had my daughter take photos of this interesting sight. Funny what you run into just going to the store!

Does anyone know who's truck this might be?

Pretty cool. They were definitely used...Many were requisitioned in Holland,
Belgium and France where Chevrolet commercial trucks were commonly used
pre -war and captured from commonwealth inventories in Africa.

Thanks Nick, I was amazed to see a Heer outfitted Chevy truck just going to Walmart. It was pretty neat to say the least. My kids were not impressed, but I was having a good time with it. Again, thanks for the information. Cheers, Steve

This is the story of our collector lives isn't is Steve. We get all excited about these things and everyone else just roll their eyes at us.

A really neat sight for sure. Any German reenactment groups in your area perhaps?
