Does this unit insignia look familiar to anyone? The swords may have been originally curved like scimitars. Any information would be appreciated.

Thanks, but I'm not sure that's it. This emblem is currently on the rear of the ex-Patton Museum SdKfz 234/4. It was painted on during a quick cosmetic restoration several years ago. The curator had seen the emblem in a photograph and had instructed one of the volunteers to paint it on. The curator didn't have any information on what unit used it and apparently didn't make it clear what type of sword was to be depicted. After looking it up on the Internet, it doesn't show the 56. Infanterie-Division having an organic heavy armored car unit.
