Wow, that is awesome. Are the vehicle rides open to anyone, or only friends and family of the vehicle owners?

Open for anyone who purchases a ticket for a ride.

Indeed, all rides are open for anyone. Tickets for tanks are limited but Kübelwagen, Schwimmwagen, motorbikes and all kind of trucks and halftracks drive all day long. A nice experience for those of us who can't afford their own jeep, halftrack or tank

Thanks for the additional details. I went to the website but could not find an English version. Can tickets be bought in advance, or only that day?

I plan to fly over from the US for the 2016 show, so I would like to get a ride in the tank if possible. Any suggestions on how to get one of those tickets.

You can buy them at the show. There's a big selling place. Riding tickets were Euro 5, 20 or 50 (for tanks). You don't have to buy them in advance. Will be tricky to get a tank ride though as there was only the Hetzer which was open for public rides. No public rides on the Stug (as it belongs to the German Bundeswehr).
