I have at last managed to fabricate the suspension arm travel stops / bump stops and atteched them to the chassis. It seemed to take ages to complete these items but we had a week where we were snowed in and the workshop was frozen up which seemed like a month.

They are not perfect but as near as I could get them, the grey one is from the Bovington tank museums PZ2. For my next trick I am making the track return rollers, now that will be fun.

Simply stunning! It is amazing that the small parts are so time consuming when done correctly but the efforts and effects when assembled are astronomical! Keep up the great work!

Hello David,

I intend to make them myself, only time will tell how successful this will be. I have just started to make the return rollers, so we will see how successful they are, casting the rubber/ neoprene on to the steel wheel will be interesting, as it's something that i have never done before.

Again, another extraordinary update to your PZII build. You sir are a master of your craft! Excellent work...... I'm still hinging on every update.

Question, what did you use as a template for the return rollers and shafts? Original blue prints, pictures or your own measurements? Again, Phenomenal work and progress on your tank!

Its a mixture really Steve, some of the measurements I have from measuring the tank at Bovington tank museum, some are from drawings in various books and some are scaled. I have found very little useful information on the internet and experience has taught me to be very sceptical of using scaled drawings in some books or indeed trusting their interpretation of assembly's. The best model that I have found, that replicates the dimensions I have taken, is the tamiya 1/35 but I wouldn't use this without cross referencing to other sources. Some times I take a flyer and use artistic interpretation if its for purely aesthetics and sometimes, whilst I try to copy the original, the materials that are available to me dictate the final part, keeping the cost down is the main driver.

How I would love a set of original blue prints.
