Update to "Die Panzertruppe" (Battle Born Books), Part II

    Hello, all!
Just finished adding some more material to the site. I hope to get to any errata that may have crept into the book today. In the meantime, however, I'm please to be able to show the collecting community some of Scott Pritchett's great Panzer collection. (The main link to the site is: www.battlebornbooks.com.)
Here's a portion of what was posted...
    _____

Just finished updating the site with a feast for the eyes for any Panzer collector. Scott Pritchett just sent me some images of his “war room.” Housing one of the finest Panzer-related collections anywhere, Scott’s amazing collection is now available for viewing by mere mortals. (I know Scott’s already blushing!)

      Errata and Addenda

For those who have purchased the book, I have set up an errata and addenda page on my web site:
      http://battlebornbooks.com/?page_id=26
I hope there is nothing to add later on, at least in regard to errata, but any amplifying comments and input are also always appreciated!
      Regards,
      Bob Edwards

          Reader-Submitted Errata

          Simon,

Many thanks for getting the photos and for the very kind words.

Hope you don't have to pay an arm and a leg for the book in the UK.

If the purchase price plus postage makes it prohibitively expensive, I can fit four of the books in a Post Office flat-rate priority-mail box sent to the UK or the continent for around $80. That makes the unit price for shipping a more tolerable $20.

I will also be at the SOS in Louisville at the beginning of February, if anyone wishes to buy the book from me there (probably the least expensive option for those coming from overseas, until you factor in airfare, food, hotels, rental cars, low exchange rates and the high cost of alcohol and lap dances )

          On another topic...

The first reader-submitted errata has been posted on the site. It comes from Derka, who doesn't even have the book in hand yet! He figured it out from scrutinizing the sample pages posted on the web site. Here's the link, if interested:

We’ve received the first reader-provided input for the errata and addenda page:

Page 281: Alert reader Chris from France—known as “Derka” on many militaria forums—noticed that the bottom image was inaccurately captioned, since it states that the enlisted scout in the image is wearing a 1st-pattern reed-green special-purpose uniform for armored vehicle crewmen. In fact, the scout in question is simply wearing a reed-green HBT field uniform, with the tunic bottom tucked into his trousers. Thanks, Chris!

            Great work Bob,

I am looking forward to when I can buy this book.

Your web site is one of the best. Helpful, interesting and honest.

Thank you for what you have done for the collecting of Panzerwaffe over the years ,

            Chris

                Fabulous Book

I just got my autographed copy of Bob's new book today and have not been able to put it down. It is a most impressive work of scholarship and research into a neglected aspect of warfighting at which the German Wehrmacht excelled. The first class diagrams and photographs really bring the story to life. I have been sorely disappointed by other published works on military subjects that demand a hefty price and deliver little in the way of insight or value. This book is professionally produced in every way and I highly recommend it to all with an interest in the men and machines that shaped the battlefield for the Panzer forces.

                  Flattery will get you everywhere!

I'm still blushing from all the effusive praise. Many thanks to all who have provided the kind words!
                  _____

For those who live outside the US, I have found a site which will apparently ship free virtually worldwide and at a discount!
                  Here's the link:
                  http://www.bookdepository.com/Scouts.../9780811713115
I have never used the Book Depository, but it looks legit.

All the best for the New Year!
